The snake goddess colors the world: a Chinese tale told in English and Chinese
(Readalong)
Description
"Long ago, the world was dark and gloomy. Everything was grey -- the sky was grey, the ocean was grey, and even the grass was grey. One day, the Snake Goddess Nuwa fell from above. She was dressed in such beautiful colors that people could never have imagined. Nuwa wanted to make the world more colorful, but it was impossible because there was a big hole in the sky that sucked out all the colors on Earth. Nuwa was determined to fix the hole, and she needed five magical stones to help her do that. So she sets out on a quest, and with a lot of hard work, found the magical stones to patch up the hole in the sky. Then she colored the world with magnificent green grass, blue skies, and orange and red sunsets."--
